Seven is the mystical number of wisdom, philosophy and contemplation. The essence is wholly about spirituality, dreams, intuition and finding a spiritual path. It is one of the most esoteric numbers, representing the seven chakras, seventh day of rest, seven days of the week, combination of mind, body, spirit with the sacred elements to create the universe, birth and re-birth. The qualities of seven are centred around finding the higher purpose of life, and is ideally suited to its colour violet, which is connected to the crown chakra and focuses on our spiritual attainment. A seven personality is someone who is in tune with their spiritual development and has this at the heart of everything they do. Sevens are often wise beyond their years, however can have a tendency to go completely within themselves in order to find their elusive nirvana. Hence a seven personality can seem aloof, distant and overly spiritual. In the minor arcana, the presence of seven represents spirituality, wisdom and growth from a higher purpose and strong principles as well as illusion, dishonesty and disdain. Seven is also an accomplished number, wisdom is not just about spirituality but also can be learned and applied and as a result achievements are made, with just reward. In the major arcana, The Chariot is numbered seven and signifies the victory gained from taking control of ones destiny. The essence of seven is also found within The Tower (16) and reminds us of the repercussions of ignoring signs, or becoming too reclusive as life has a tendency to happen with sometimes explosive results. A seven home will be a retreat, somewhere where contemplation will be easy to achieve and where dreams can become reality. It is a place for meditation and often isolation and is therefore a difficult place to share. Seven can also become too internalised, and there is a danger of fantasy taking over reality, as well as a risk of illusion and dishonesty which then result in losing touch with real life altogether.
