Wyrd is a modern addition to the system and represents the cosmic power of fate; what will be will be. The archaic meaning or fehu is cattle, ancient man's means of bartar, as such this is the rune of material gain.
 
Uruz represents the wild ox and as such strength and the natural powers of resistance and good health. Thurisaz is the rune associated with the god Thor, it can be seen as protection and luck, or conversely the thorn in your side.
 
Ansuz means mouth and represents communication, advice, and the acquisition of wisdom. This rune was associated with the wagon, and as such relates to travel or movement.
 
Kenaz is connected to fire, and represents energy, power and strength. Gifu means gift and is the rune of love, partnerships and happiness.
 
Wunjo means joy, and is an excellent omen, representing happiness and success in whatever aspect of life under question. Hagall means hail, and in all that it represents is the primary rune of coldness, limitations and delay, where all forces are out of your control.
 
Nied is another delay rune, this time counselling patience, and whilst delays are tiresome things will prevail. Isa is ice, and is representative of significant cessation of all activities, the big freeze.
 

Jera means harvest and relates to reaping the rewards of your efforts.

Eihwaz meant yew to the nordics, and as such represents a powerful ally and protection.
 

Perdho is the mystery rune and relates to hidden secrets and occult abilities.

Eolh signifies a fortunate new influence entering your life.

 
Sigel is one of the runes of victory and inciates great power and success.

Tir is another of the runes of victory and assures success in any competition or cause.

 
Beorc is the rune of fertility, birth and family. Ehwaz is another movement rune, indicating physical shifts and changes of location.
 
Mannaz is the rune of humankind and relates to human relationships and interdependance. Laguz means lake and represents healing, intuitive knowledge and emotions.
 
Ing is the most positive rune of all and indicates a successful conclusion to all endeavours. Daeg symbolises fertility, growth and increase and indicates a positive period of abundance.
