Having a tarot reading is a very personal experience that is why I am guided by strict ethics when I undertake a reading for any client. It can be quite a daunting process trying to find the right person to do the reading, and then when you feel happy with your choice, which spread should you choose and how do you word the question? How much information should you “give away?”, and will it tell the future?.

Hopefully, this section should answer some of your queries, if you still feel unsure, feel free to email us at admin@innermoo.co.uk and ask any questions you need answering before you feel comfortable placing your order.

Click on the question that you'd like answered to be taken to there.

Surely I shouldn't give any information away, the tarot should tell me everything?

So will it tell me the future?

How do I know who to choose to do my reading for me?

This is your choice, I know how hard it is to find a reader you trust and feel comfortable sharing innermost secrets and concerns with. My advise is to go with your intuition, if you think a reader, their site or their advert feels right, then try them. Ask if they will provide a free one card reading as a taster, or at least a cheap one! Word of mouth is always a good indicator and if a reader is recommended to you then try them out. If you are unsure whether innermoo is the right site for you, have a look at our links section, or visit TABI and choose from one of their other endorsed readers.

How do I know what spread to choose?

This depends on many things, have a look at the spreads in the spreads & cards section, and see which one you like the look of. Choose one that is specific to your type of question, choose by price, or if none of the spreads appeal then order a spread by number of cards and ask for a personal spread based on your question. I can then contact you and between us we can design a spread that you feel will answer the question. You may simply require a general overview and not have a specific question that needs answering, in that case I would recommend the celtic cross.

How do I ask the question?

This is an important area. The question itself will help ensure that the most empowering answer possible will be revealed. The tarot does not respond well to Yes/No questions as it cannot reveal all the advice it has to offer. Try to word your question so that you are empowered by the answer, and the insight it gives you helps you to actually put into action any advice that will help you. Try things like:

“how can I improve my approach to….”

“How to I empower myself in the situation regarding….”

“What do I need to know about…”

“How can I help…”

“What is the next step I need to take to achieve…”

“What energies are blocking me…”

“Which is the better choice between x and y”

“What can I do to support myself while…”

“How can I overcome the obstacle of…”

“What is standing in the way of…”

These are just a few examples and you may have a very good idea of what you want to ask, if not and nothing above helps you to write your question then email admin@innermoo.co.uk and between us we will work out what your question should be.

Surely I shouldn't give any information away, the tarot should tell me everything?

This is a popular misconception that results in disappointment, especially if you are looking for a magic wand to tell you how your life is going to turn out. There are many sceptics who, rightfully, are cautious about things they do not understand, and often determine that the tarot is just a trick used by clever psychologists who read body language and then tell the future using the querent's reactions. Unfortunately readers like this do exist, the beauty of the internet is that they cannot succeed at reading using these methods.

The tarot is not meant to be a special effects trick, but a tool that helps to guide you to a deeper understanding of yourself. It is a kind of therapy, and when we go to therapists or doctors we share the symptoms with them so they can find a cure. If you view the tarot in a similar way then you will get the most benefit from it.

So will it tell me the future?

Yes and no! It will give you an indication of outcomes based on insights and guidance it gives on your specific query. So if you ask how to improve your relationship, it could tell you what the obstacles are, where the room for improvement is, what the positive energies are, how to remove any obstacles and what the outcome will be if you do. It all depends on the spread and whether or not that spread as a position dedicated to the outcome of the situation!

In my readings I do not use the tarot as a tool to tell you when something will happen, as I feel that your fate is in your hands and determined by your actions, if something tells you something is going to happen at a certain time, then you'll probably just accept it, instead of considering the possibility that something else could just as easily take place if you take a different action.
